Reconciliation (PENANCE)
The sacrament of reconciliation, which is also known as Penance or Confession, is a sacrament of healing. The intention of the sacrament is to give the penitent the opportunity to be reconciled, that is to make right ones’ relationship with both God and the Church. The individual and the body of Christ as a whole are affected by sin, so the sacrament of reconciliation gives one the opportunity to relieve oneself of any spiritual burdens and strengthens the bond of the family of faith.
