SKD COVID PROTOCOLS

Greetings SKD Family,

As a parish we are discontinuing the RSVP process and replacing it with a simple check-in when you arrive on Sunday mornings and weekdays.  The daily Mass and Sunday 1:00 p.m. Mass communities have used this system for quite some time now with great success.  However, certain COVID precautions will remain in place until further notice.  See below.

  1. Since everyone’s safety is our main goal in returning to church, it is in our community’s best interests for everyone to be vaccinated.  Therefore, masks will still be required during Mass.  Please sanitize your hands upon entering the church.
  2. Though temperatures will no longer be taken upon entry, please stay home if you are running a temperature or if you’re not feeling well.
  3. The middle pews of the church are no longer separated by tape, but social distancing is still requested and strongly recommended.  The side pews will still be taped for those who prefer a structured social distancing and those who are unvaccinated.
  4. Wiping down the pews between Sunday Masses is still our practice.  Please consider volunteering 7 minutes of your time after Mass once a month to help out.  Let’s practice the principle of Ujima(collective work and responsibility) that adorns one of the banners in our church.

Church, as we win the COVID battle, let’s do it with the remaining principles of the Nguzo Saba in mind remembering our theme of “Radical Love”: unity (Umoja), self-determination (Kujichagulia), cooperative economics (Ujamaa), purpose (Nia), creativity (Kuumba), and faith (Imani).

If you chooses, you can still join us by following the Mass on YouTube.

We thank you for your cooperation.
