Associate Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament

Mission Statement

ASBS members are men and women, married and single who share in the SBS spirit, charism, ministerial heritage and a desire to grow in personal holiness.

How we serve St.Katharine Drexel.

ASBS members serve on committees and ministries within St. Katharine Drexel Parish we are committed to strengthening and developing the Black Catholic Community.  We serve in our evangelizing efforts to help the homeless, those in shelters, and partnering to make community connections.  Such as volunteering for a food bank, providing individuals with applications and information about scholarships for college, visiting the sick and bereaved.

What is most important about our ministry is that we pray for God's guidance in our evangelizing efforts through service, community involvement to support those as we can in the Black Community.

Our membership includes 17 members from different catholic churches and our SBS, Sr. Christine Smith.

The qualifications for membership is men or women with a desire to grow in personal holiness, to form a supportive relationship with the Sister of the Blessed Sacrament and other associates and to share in the SS spirit, charism and ministerial heritage.

We meet monthly and have contemplative prayer services as well as short business meetings to discuss stewardship, fundraising, service, evangelizations, celebrations and events.
