Sr. Mary Hart Children’s Program
After School and Summer Camp
Missions Statement

To acknowledge and address the needs of the neighborhood, specifically as they relate to the eductionsl success of the children in Roxbury and the surrounding communities, by continuing Sr. Mary Hart’s legacy of literacy focused and educational services to children

We serve St. Katharine Drexel Parish by modeling our Good Shepard God, who taught us to value and believe in each child and be kind and loving in our work.

We strive to make a difference in the lives of the children we serve, to continue the legacy of service and love begun by Sr. Mary Hart and carried on  by Sr. Joanne McGovern.   We want to help each child realize his or her potential and be able to provide a safe, supportive, nurturing and enriching environment for the children we serve.

Membership includes Julie Mc Govern, Executive Director
Amritha Toulon, Operations Director

The qualifications of membership  for both programs

The after-school program welcome students volunteers from Boston College and Emmanuel College.
The summer camp hires lead, senior and junior counselors.  Many of these roles are filled by former campers and parishioners.  We also welcome volunteers at the summer camp.

Our after-school program and staff meet as needed and with the Parish adminstrative staff, every two weeks from September through June.

The summer camp staff meet beginning with the orientation period beginning in July and periodically throughout the 5 week camp session and in August at the end of the camp.
